mia: mama, mama, i got no checks on my bear!
me: oh, good? you didn't get any checks on your bear.
she has been enthusiastically talking all week about this bear business. it wasn't clear what it all meant until she came home from school friday with this report card (click to enlarge the image) and a paper bear safety-pinned to her dress. as i examined this obviously important paperwork, she explained this seemingly complicated kindergarten reward system. something naughty gets you so many checks on your bear, which then equal certain consequences. no checks gets you a trip to the treasure box, and from her backpack she produced a new box of crayons with a lollipop tapped to it.
congrats miss mia for giving your mommy another reason to smile and getting no checks on your bear!

Mia sweetie!!! No checks on your bear??? I am so proud of you for being such a good girl. Sounds like you are really enjoying kindergarten. Wish I could go back and be 5 years old again, so I could go with you to kindergarten. You would be my BEST friend!!! and I would not have any checks on my bear either.......but...then....I wouldn't be your Grandma Carolyn and I like that much better! I love you!
I can't believe that Mia is that old! I love the safety pin... I wish I could do that to some of my students. I'm not surprised that she's such a good girl.

arent kids the best never a dull moment adrianna starts kindergaten in one week im so nervous I thought the second one would get easier but i was way wrong.
