come and gone

me & the glo mom 10/2008

g-ma glo and auntie tweece have come and gone. as usual they left us far better than they found us- the house is squeaky clean, the laundry's done, boxes are unpacked, the pantry is full, laughter enjoyed, date nights had, and i'm relaxed. life is good.

knowing that we will be seeing them twice more before the new year made their departure easier, but the goodbye always hurts. i'm usually okay until mom gives me a hug and refuses to let go. then the tears come. watching her car pull out of my driveway and disappear around the corner rips my heart out. at the end of one of her month long stays a few summers ago she got up before the sun and snuck out the door while everyone was sleeping to avoid the goodbye.

to my mom- thank you! please come back soon- the monkeys miss their "crazy gama" and i can't keep this place strait much longer.

miss and love. kiss and hug.

Risa, How do you always manage to make me cry. You and Bryan have given me 3 of the most precious gifts I have ever received, Mia, Miley and my man, Levi. Both of you have always made me feel welcome in your home, thank you for never making me feel like I was imposing or over stepping your bounds, like folding Bryan's underwear, or moving your furniture. Love all of you loads and miss you sooooo much.
love, Mom

Hey, I'm SOOOOOO behind in my posts!!! I didn't get to my email yesterday until just before I got into bed after midnight (so ENTRENCHED am I with trying to finish my kitchen!!!).....however, seeing two of my favorite people smiling and savoring their mother-daughter relationship brought me to tears also. May you always appreciate those blessed times...and, by the way, TEARS are good!! I love you guys so much and it was so good being with you last Sunday. You guys are the BEST and I thank God daily for you. How sweet it is for me to be considered part of your family. You will NEVER know how much it means to me. God bless you and have a great weekend. Love, Grandma Carolyn

Thinking of your mom cleaning your house reminds me of the times she would be up at 2am ironing or grocery shopping in the middle of the night. She is always on the go. :) I have really fun memories of her from when I was little. Thanks for sharing.Notice, I am ignoring the good bye part- I hate them too. :)
